What is an Australian Mountain Doodle?

​

It is a cross-breeding between an Aussidoodle and Bernedoodle it can also be considered a Double Doodle.

 

The Aussiedoodle part of this breed is a mix between an Australian Shepherd and a Standard Poodle. Aussiedoodles are a very intelligent, lovable, and energetic breed. They Love their people and are often referred to as a "Velcro Dog".  We currently have in our program "Willow" which is our F1bb Aussidoodle girl.

The Bernedoodle part of this breed is a mix between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. Bernedoodles are Smart and Loving, great with kids and also Love their people. We currently have in our program "Hank" which is an F1b Bernedoodle.

Temperament: 

 

Australian Mountain Doodles make outstanding family pets and are generally great with children of all sizes. They are sweet, outgoing dogs who are full of life! Aussiedoodles and Bernedoodles are both a highly intelligent and friendly dog. They are very family orientated and love spending time with their people. They are often used as service or therapy dogs due to their lovable nature and their trainability. They are a well-rounded breed who love to get outside and play but can be just as content to lay at your feet. 

 

 

Training: 

 

They are extremely smart and eager to please. Training must be done with rewards, firmness, patience, and consistency. Both of the breeds used to create the Australian Mountain Doodle are considered to be very smart, making this one super-smart cross-breed. Basic training such as "sit", "come", "stay" etc. should start as soon as you take your little one home to ensure your puppy starts off on the right foot. It is important to crate train your puppy when they are young so that they don't become destructive in your home and are reliable with potty training. 

 

Activity: 

 

Australian Mountain Doodles require exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and getting into trouble. They will do well in any living situation provided that their needs are sufficiently met. They will do best if given daily walks and playtime. Most AMD enjoys swimming, going on hikes, and playing ball.... Did I Mention PLAYING BALL!!!!!  They have a medium energy level and are great for those who live an active lifestyle or like to sit around at home and snuggle.
